Hemorrhoids, more often referred to as piles, is the condition wherein veins in the anus or lower rectum are stretched, inflamed and swollen. There are a lot of people all over the world who suffer from this condition and most of them have taken desperate measures to get rid of the symptoms of hemorrhoids.  However, one of the best ways to be able to prevent hemorrhoids and reduce the symptoms is to have a high fiber diet incorporated into the daily meals. A high fiber diet can help in the prevention of hemorrhoids as well as constipation, colon cancer and high cholesterol.

 

Fiber is said to be the most crucial component of anyone’s diet if they want to prevent hemorrhoids.  Fiber helps in make feces soft and easier to pass than usual.  This means that there will be less effort in straining during bowel movement and there will be well formed feces during elimination.

A high fiber diet can be achieved by incorporating high fiber vegetables, high fiber fruits, grains, and legumes in your daily meals.  It would be best to add fiber into your diet gradually over a few weeks so that your body will slowly adapt to the fiber.  Consider increasing your fluid intake as well in order to balance out the levels of fiber in your body.

You can eat a variety of high fiber fruits, high fiber vegetables and grains to add more fiber in your diet to prevent the formation of hemorrhoids.  Start your day with cereals made of bran or oats.  You can have broccoli, peas, beans, and spinach, among others with your choice of protein for lunch or dinner.  You can also have fruits such as apples, oranges, and pears, among others for your dessert or midday snack.  These are just some of the excellent high fiber diet foods that you can have to prevent your body from having hemorrhoids.

Now that you know what high fiber foods should be included in your diet, you should also note the foods that you should avoid.  As much as possible, do not eat a lot of spicy foods.  They have the chemical capsaicin that tends to make bowel movements more difficult than usual.  Do not eat white bread and pastries because the high sugar content tends to make feces harder than usual.  Drinks with high levels of caffeine such as coffee also make elimination difficult as well.

Hemorrhoids can be prevented by eating high fiber foods.  Do not be afraid to incorporate high fiber foods in your diet.  Be more conscious in your choices of food from breakfast to lunch to dinner, and even during the times when you eat snacks. Choose high fiber foods list that you usually buy in the supermarket and even when you eat out in restaurants.

A high fiber diet can contribute greatly to having a healthy body and one of its biggest benefits is preventing the formation of hemorrhoids.  Do your best to eat foods that are rich in fiber as much as possible so that you will not suffer the pain and stress of having piles or hemorrhoids.
